Paska Bohdan

Bohdan Valeriiovych Paska – leading specialist of the Educational and Scientific Institute of History, Ethnology and Archaeology of the Carpathians (since 2017), candidate of historical sciences.

Born on December 27, 1992 in the village of Sadzhavka, Nadvirna district, Ivano-Frankivsk region. During 2006–2009, he was a four-time winner of the final stage of the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiad in History. He received his secondary education at the school in the village of Sadzhavka. In 2009–2014, he was a student at the Institute of History, Political Science and International Relations of the Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University (Ivano-Frankivsk), a multiple winner of the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiads in History. In 2014, he received the university award “Best Student of the Year” and a master’s degree in history. In 2017 defended his PhD thesis “Public, political and scientific activities of Valentyn Moroz”. Since 2018, he has been an assistant professor at the Department of History of Ukraine and Methods of Teaching History, since 2022, he has been a senior lecturer, and since 2024, he has been an associate professor at the same department.

Member of the jury of the 3rd and 4th stages of the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiad in History (since 2016), the 2nd stage of the All-Ukrainian competition-defense of scientific and research works of students-members of the Small Academy of Sciences. In 2022–2024 – member of the expert group on history of the Institute for Modernization of Educational Content; since 2024 – member of the expert commission on the civic and historical educational branch of the Ukrainian Institute for the Development of Education. Member of the Ivano-Frankivsk regional organization of the National Union of Local History Scholars of Ukraine (since 2018).

Author of more than 70 scientific and educational works, more than 300 encyclopedic articles. In 2017–2021, he was an active participant in a large-scale scientific project to write and organize the 4-volume edition “Western Ukrainian People’s Republic: Encyclopedia”. The scientist’s project – a popular science publication “The Trial of Valentyn Moroz: Declassified Materials” won the All-Ukrainian Competition of the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine for the 30th Anniversary of Ukraine’s Independence (2021). Awarded the distinction of the Mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk named after the Hero of the Heavenly Hundred Roman Huryk “Change the World for the Better” (2024). 

Research interests: Ukrainian national movement of the second half of the 20th century.
