Today, May 8, at the Faculty of History, Political Science and International Relations of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University held a charity fair on commemorating the Day of Remembrance and Victory over Nazism during the Second World War. It took place within the framework of the project “History in Artifacts: the Present of the Russian-Ukrainian War” in support of students of the Faculty who are service in the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
Students and teachers of the Faculty actively participated in the event, brought their homemade pastries, sweets, and drinks. Those willing also had the opportunity to try themselves in a game of checkers against the winner of the regional championships in checkers among women, Anastasia Drohobytska, a student of the 7th grade of Lyceum No. 20, who has 1 rank in checkers. The condition of the game was that the one who lost sent the funds to the collection. There were 24 games, of which Anastasia won 22, two games ended in a draw. Among Anastasia’s rivals were both students and teachers. The attendees also had the opportunity to take a photo against the background of the thematic photo zone decorated with poppies of memory, which symbolize in Ukraine the memory of those who died in the two world wars.
Students, teachers and guests of the Faculty, as well as the dean of the Faculty Ihor Fedorovych Hurak and the head of the trade union committee of University employees Klymonchuk Vasyl Yosypovych attended the event.
14,000 hryvnias were collected for the needs of students of the Faculty of History, Political Science and International Relations, who are in the Defense Forces of Ukraine, during the fair in two buildings of the Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University.
