A memorial plaque to the fallen Hero Vasyl Vintonyak was opened at the Faculty of Tourism

Today, at the Faculty of Tourism of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, a memorial plaque was unveiled to the fallen soldier, graduate of the faculty, soldier of the 25th separate Dnipro Assault Brigade, Vasyl Vintonyak, who died on April 2, 2022, near the village of Brazhkivka, Izyum District, Kharkiv Region.

The mother of the fallen hero, Oksana Vintonyak, his teammates, students, University teachers and clergy, attended the opening ceremony.

In her address to the audience, the hero’s mother emphasized that Vasyl will always live in her heart. He was the person who always believed in Ukraine and its future.

“The feat and sacrifice of the Ukrainian youth stopped the onslaught of the horde. Their actions reflect the true strength and courage of the Ukrainian people. Let their exploits always be in the memory of descendants as an example of courage and self-sacrifice. We bow our heads to all the fallen Heroes, defenders and defenders of the Motherland!” emphasized Volodymyr Velykochy, dean of the Faculty of Tourism.

Vasyl Vintonyak was born on January 14, 1998 in the village of Manyava of the Solotvyn community. He graduated from the Faculty of Tourism of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University. Before the start of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, the boy worked in Poland. When the war started, he returned to Ukraine and volunteered for the ranks of the Armed Forces. Fought as part of the mountain assault brigade. He died in April 2022 near the city of Izyum, Kharkiv region, when the Russian army continued an offensive operation and conducted active combat operations for control of this territory.
