The winners of the computer game “Ancient Halych” were awarded

Today, March 27, at Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, the awarding ceremony of the winning teams of the online tournament of the computer game-quiz “Ancient Halych” took place. The rector of the University Ihor Tsependa, the author team of the project, 11 winning teams of the tournament and teachers who prepared the teams took part in the event.

Before the start of the award ceremony, the rector of the University Ihor Tsependa congratulated the participants: “I sincerely congratulate all the winning participants. We are especially pleased to see you in the walls of our university. You and I have become such an expert family, as you have delved not only into the history of Ancient Halych, but also become complicit in this game. You took part in a new game developed by our teachers. Its purpose was not only to honor the traditions and history of Halych, but also to return to our origins, which always gave energy to the development of our state. In the game, we used an element of digitization with such an interesting journey, so you not only passed the tests, but also received aesthetic pleasure thanks to our designers. The results we have today are impressive. A large number of teams took part. Thank you for being caring and eager for knowledge!”

The online tournament took place on March 14 among 67 school teams from Ivano-Frankivsk and Lviv regions. More than 400 student-participants joined the tournament and more than 150 teachers of history, literature, geography and computer science prepared students for the tournament.

All teachers who prepared students for the online tournament of the game received certificates for professional development from the University on the topic “Using computer technologies in lessons. Computer game-quiz “Ancient Halych” (15 hours / 0.5 ECTS credit). The teachers of the eleven winning teams received certificates for 30 hours (1 ECTS credit). All participants were awarded diplomas of the rector of the University. The teams that took 1st place received power banks, for 2nd and 3rd place – computer mice, 4th and 5th place – flash drives. In addition, everyone was awarded books from the Center for Medieval Studies, the National Reserve “Ancient Halych” and the Faculty of History, Political Science and International Relations. A separate award for in-depth preparation for participation in the game was awarded to students, teachers and the directorate of two participating teams – Roman Huryk Lyceum No. 23 of the Ivano-Frankivsk City Council and Branch of Tlumatsky Lyceum No. 1 – School of the village of Viknyany.
