On February 8, 2024, a conference of the Faculty of history, political science and international relations was held, in which teachers of the department of history of Ukraine and methods of teaching history took part. One issue was put forward on the agenda – the election of a new member of the Academic Council of the Faculty.
At the beginning of the meeting, the head of the Ivano-Frankivsk regional organization of the National Union of Local Historians of Ukraine, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Mykhailo Kosylo, together with Mykola Kugutyak, Doctor of History, Professor of the Department of Ethnology and Archeology, Director of the Institute of History, Ethnology and Archeology of the Carpathians, handed out membership cards of the National Union of Local Historians of Ukraine to the teachers: candidate of historical sciences, associate professor, dean of the faculty of history, political science and international relations Ihor Hurak, doctor of historical sciences, professor of the Department of History of Ukraine and methods of teaching history Ihor Pylypiv, candidates of historical sciences, associate professors of the Department of World History Oleksandr Marushchenko and Lilia Burachok, candidates of historical sciences, assistant professors of the Department of History of Central and Eastern Europe and special branches of historical science, Vasyl Debenko and Halyna Stefaniuk, and senior lecturer of the same department, Roman Kobylnyk.
After that, the head of the trade union committee of the Faculty, associate professor of the Department of World History Lilia Shcherbin, spoke about the election of a new member of the Academic Council of the Faculty of History, Political Science and International Relations. Liliya Vasylivna reported that according to the adopted standard Regulations on the Academic Council of the Faculty in 2023, the following representation is established for elected representatives who represent other employees of the Faculty: two elected employees from each department of the Faculty. At the same time, at least 75% of the total number of the Academic Council of the Faculty should be scientific, scientific and pedagogical workers, and at least 10% should be elected representatives from the number of persons studying at the Faculty.
