Commemorative evening for the 95th anniversary of the birth of Dmytro Pavlychko

Today, a solemn evening of remembrance was held at the Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the birth of the Hero of Ukraine, Honorary Doctor of PNU, prominent poet, translator, and public and political figure Dmytro Pavlychko.

The event brought together numerous representatives of the scientific community, writers, artists and students who honored the memory and great creative legacy of the outstanding Ukrainian.

Opening remarks were delivered by the Acting Rector of the Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, Professor Ihor Tsependa; Deputy Chairman of the National Union of Writers of Ukraine, Director of the Museum of History of PNU, Honored Worker of Culture of Ukraine Yaroslav Tkachivskyi; Dean of the Faculty of Philology of PNU, Professor Roman Holod.

As part of the event, the People’s Artist of Ukraine, Professor Mykhailo Kryven; Master’s student of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Arts Yuriy Gresko; folk vocal ensemble “Rosynka” (director – Honored Artist of Ukraine Khrystyna Mykhailiuk); 4th year students of the Department of Performing Arts and Choreography (director – Associate Professor Vira Prokopyak); dance ensemble “Dyvotsvit” of the Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University (director – Associate Professor Olha Kvetsko) demonstrated their creativity.

At the end of the evening, poetic lines by Dmytro Pavlychko were recited, reflecting the depth of his thoughts, love for his native land, and the struggle for Ukraine’s independence. The participants of the event shared their memories of personal meetings with the poet, emphasizing his significant contribution to the development of Ukrainian culture, literature, and politics.

The event became another testament to the enduring memory of Dmytro Pavlychko, whose creativity and public activities inspire new generations of Ukrainians.
