Report on the achievement of the university’s strategic success

On December 22, a conference of the working group and a meeting of the Academic Council were held in a mixed format at the Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University. The central event of the event was the Rector’s Report on the University’s Activities in 2023.

The meeting began with a minute of silence for the students, graduates and teachers of the Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University who died as a result of the Russian Federation’s aggression against Ukraine.

At the beginning of the meeting, the rector of the Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, Ihor Tsependa, awarded diplomas and thanks from the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Council to Professor of the Department of Social Pedagogy and Social Work Halyna Mykhailyshyn; Professor of the Department of Ethnology and Archaeology of the Faculty of History, Political Science and International Relations, Director of the Educational and Scientific Institute of History, Ethnology and Archaeology of the Carpathians Mykola Kuhutyak; Director of the Institute of Postgraduate Education and Pre-University Training Mykhailo Nagornyak; Professor of the Department of Ukrainian Language of the Faculty of Philology Vasyl Greshchuk; Professor of the Department of Primary Education of the Faculty of Pedagogy Maria Oliyar; Professor of the Department of Theory and Methods of Preschool and Special Education of the Faculty of Pedagogy Nellie Lysenko; Professor of the Department of Therapy, Rehabilitation and Morphology of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports Bohdan Hrytsulyak; Professor of the Department of Primary Education of the Faculty of Pedagogy Nadia Lutsan; Mykola Lesyuk, Head of the Department of Slavic Languages, Faculty of Philology; Tetiana Taras, Head of the Department of Environmental Chemistry and Chemical Education, Faculty of Natural Sciences.

In his report, the rector first of all drew attention to the international ranking positions of the Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, by which its activities are evaluated in Ukraine and abroad. In particular, in 2023 the following positions were achieved: Webometrics Ranking of World Universities – 5th place; SCImago Institutions Rankings – 5th place; ranking of universities according to SciVerse Scopus indicators – 10th place; Top Universities in Ukraine 2023 – 10th place; among higher education institutions of Ivano-Frankivsk – 1st place; rating “Best HEIs of the Western Region of Ukraine” – 4th place; rating “Best Classical HEIs of Ukraine” – 5th place; consolidated rating of HEIs of Ukraine 2023 – 7th place; rating of HEIs “TOP-200 Ukraine” – 11th place; The TOP-10 ranking of professional colleges in Ukraine (by the number of applicants) is 9. Among the TOP-10 most popular higher education institutions by the number of applications submitted by applicants, Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University in 2023 took 8th place.

This year, the University has implemented many domestic and international scientific projects, as well as international educational and infrastructure projects. During his report, Igor Yevgenovich also noted the active information policy pursued by the University through the media, fruitful international activities and high achievements of teachers, scientists and students in 2023. He also expressed gratitude to the team for their work, successful implementation of scientific and educational, as well as international projects and called for fruitful work in the future.

After hearing and discussing the Rector’s Report on the University’s Activities in 2023, the conference of the labor collective noted positive results in ensuring the quality of education, the dynamics of the number of full-time NPP with scientific degrees and academic titles, the dynamics of monograph publications by University scientists, student participation in mobility programs, improving the training of the personnel reserve, material and technical support for the functioning of structural units, expanding cooperation within the framework of existing and initiated international partnerships, and popularizing the University. The Rector’s Report was defined as a “report on achieving the strategic success of the University.”
