Participation in the international Summer School dedicated to visual literacy in history

Oksana Drohobytska, Associate Professor of the Department of Ethnology and Archaeology, Faculty of History, Political Science and International Relations, Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, took part in the Summer School “Visual History and Didactics of History: Promoting Visual Literacy in the Regions of the Republic of Moldova, Ukraine and Georgia” on June 22–29, 2025, which was held in the cities of Berlin and Braunschweig (Germany). The International Educational Laboratory of the Moldovan Institute in Leipzig (MIL) with the support of German partner institutions, including the German Academic Exchange Service (Deutsche Akademische Austauschdienst (DAAD)), which implements the “East-West Dialogue 2025” program, organized the event. The Federal Foreign Office of Germany (FAA) funded the project.

Oksana Drohobytska listened to lectures by leading German scientists, employees of educational institutions and museum institutions (University of Augsburg, Department of Media and Transformation of the Georg Eckert Institute in Braunschweig, Pilecki Institute in Berlin, etc.), participated in workshops dedicated to the analysis of photographs, memes and interactive games on historical topics, and also gave her own report on the topic “Repressed Childhood (Operation “West” 1947 in Visual Sources)”.
