Conference of the Historical Commission of the Shevchenko Scientific Society

On March 20, 2025, the head of the Department of Ethnology and Archaeology, Director of the Institute of History, Ethnology and Archaeology of the Carpathians, Professor Mykola KUGUTYAK held a conference of the historical commission of the thirty-sixth scientific session of the National School of History in room 618 (humanities building). The following interesting reports were made by Ruslan DELYATYNSKIY “From the Stanislaviv Diocese to the Ivano-Frankivsk Metropolis of the UGCC (1885-2025): historiographical, source-based and methodological aspects of the study (to the 140th anniversary of the founding of the Diocese)”; Oleh MALYARCHUK “New trends in urban planning and architecture of the city of Ivano-Frankivsk during the period of Soviet totalitarianism”; Igor LIUBCHYK “The figure of Serhiy Verkhratsky against the background of the era: between medicine and history (to the 80th anniversary of the Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University)”; Stepan KOBUTA “Non-Soviet” Soviet power: democratic councils in the Galician regions in 1990-1991”.

All the speeches at the conference were very interesting and meaningful. The words of each speaker charged the audience with energy, awakening an active interest in historical science.

The meeting of the commission was attended by teachers of the Department of Ethnology and Archaeology and master’s students of the specialty “History and Archaeology” of the Educational Institution “Ethnology”.
