On April 5, 2023, the plenary meeting of the reporting scientific conference of the historical sciences section of the Faculty of History, Political Science and International Relations was held, in which employees of the Institute of History, Ethnology and Archeology of the Carpathians took part. In the introductory speech, the head of the section, presiding at the meeting, the dean of the Faculty, prof. M.V. Kuhutyak emphasized the importance of the event, paying particular attention to the fact that this event is a platform for the exchange of ideas between scientists of the Faculty and creates an additional opportunity to present the results of their own research conducted by the professors and teachers of the structural division of the University.
Doctor of political sciences, professor of the Department of political institutions and processes Serhiy Derevyanko (topic of the report – “People’s power in the conditions of the Russian-Ukrainian war”) and candidate of historical sciences, head of the Department of ethnology and archeology Bohdan Tomenchuk (the topic of the report is “Actual issues of the latest scientific research of ancient Halych”) spoke at the conference.
During the conference, fruitful discussions continued, the main arguments of which became the basis for developing a joint decision of the scientific meeting about the great importance of the stated topics of the reports for the development of historical, political science and international scientific thought. Closing the meeting, the head of the section prof. Mykola Kuhutyak noted the high scientific level of the participants’ reports, the polemical nature of their speeches, which contributes to the development of new research, the establishment of scientific communication and the exchange of one’s own scientific achievements.
