Pursuant to the order of the Department of Education and Science of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration dated 15.01.2024 No. 18, teachers of the Department of History of Ukraine and History Teaching Methods Tamara Halytska-Diduh (chairman of the jury), Oleh Yehreshiy, Andriy Korolko, Andriy Mishchuk and the leading specialist of the Institute of history, ethnology and archeology of the Carpathians, Bohdan Paska, on January 23, 2024, on the basis of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Institute of Postgraduate Pedagogical Education, checked students’ works of the 3rd stage of the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiad in History. Ihor Raykivskyi, head of the Department of History of Ukraine and methods of teaching history, acted as an expert-consultant of the Olympiad.
In total, about 110 works of the best students of grades 8-11 of general secondary education institutions of the Ivano-Frankivsk region were submitted for inspection. The main tasks of the student Olympiad at its regional stage are: stimulation of creative self-improvement of children, student youth; identification and development of gifted students, providing them with assistance in choosing a profession, involving them in studying at institutions of higher education; realization of abilities of talented students; increasing interest in the in-depth study of history, formation of research work skills among students; activation of all forms of extracurricular and extracurricular work with students; raising the level of teaching of history and social science subjects, professional training of students; involvement of professors and teaching staff, graduate students, students of higher education institutions, employees of scientific institutions in active work with gifted student youth. The analysis of the verified works showed a high level of preparation of the majority of students in grades 8–11.
It should also be noted that according to the general rating of the results of the IV stage of the All-Ukrainian School Olympiad in History, the team of students from the Ivano-Frankivsk region is among the top five teams of Ukraine.
