Today, February 20, Ukraine celebrates the 10th anniversary of commemoration of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred. It was during these days during the Revolution of Dignity that the confrontation between the Ukrainian people and the then regime reached its peak. From February 18 to 20, the largest number of people died on the Maidan – 78 people, after February 20, more than 20 protesters died of injuries. All of them entered the memorial of the fighters for Ukrainian independence – the Heavenly Hundred.
At the Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, people once again gathered near the memorial Obelisk dedicated to students and teachers who died in the struggle for Ukraine’s independence, to pay their respects to the eternally young student of the Faculty of Philosophy – Roman Huryk. The event was attended by the rector of the University Igor Tsependa, representatives of the rectorate, teachers, students and employees, Roman’s family, in particular his mother Iryna Huryk, as well as media representatives.

He became one of the main symbols and one of the youngest Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred, and for all of us – an example of courage and indomitability.
