Over 400 school students played our computer game “Ancient Halych”!

An online tournament for the computer quiz game “Ancient Halych” was held at the Carpathian National University. 67 school teams from Ivano-Frankivsk and Lviv regions took part in the tournament. More than 400 student-participants joined the tournament. More than 150 teachers of history, literature, and geography and computer science prepared students for the tournament.

At the beginning of the event, the rector of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University Ihor Tsependa congratulated all the participants: “The game “Ancient Halych” has a historical character. It was the 1125th anniversary of Halych, which we celebrated last year, which inspired us to turn to our historical and state-building roots, because Halych played an important role in Ukrainian history. Thanks to the game “Ancient Halych”, you will not only get to know the history of Halych now, but also, I am sure, you will explore the history of the ancient and glorious city in the years to come. It is worth mentioning the Galician Gospel of 1144 it is our ancient history. I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to visit our university. I look forward to meeting you at the Prykarpattia University on March 27, when we will award the winners of the online tournament.”

The moderator of the event was the assistant professor of the Department of Philology of the Kolomyia Educational and Scientific Institute, Halyna Voloshchuk, who noted: “Congratulations today to all the participants of the tournament, the students who will play the game “Ancient Halych”, and the teachers of history, geography, Ukrainian literature, computer science, who prepared the student teams to the tournament. We know from your feedback that the game interested you and motivated you to delve into the history of the famous city in more detail, read Stepan Pushyk’s novel “Halytska Brama” and visit Halych for sightseeing purposes. Thank you for your activity and warm feedback, we wish Ukraine a quick Victory and personal victories for all participants!”

We would like to announce: on March 27 at 2:00 p.m. (in auditorium 23 of the Central Committee) of the University, the eleven teams that won the tournament will be awarded.

 According to the terms of the quiz game, the winning teams and teachers will receive gifts, certificates from the rector and a tour of the University with the participation of scientists and students.
