Meeting of the historical commission of the Thirty-fifth Scientific Session of the Shevchenko Scientific Society

On March 20, 2024, based on the Faculty of History, Political Science and International Relations of the Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, a meeting of the Historical Commission of the Humanities of the Thirty-fifth Scientific Session of the Shevchenko Scientific Society. During the work of the commission, the reports of scientists from three institutions of higher education in the city of Ivano-Frankivsk – Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University and Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas were heard. In particular, their research was presented by: candidate of historical sciences, associate professor of the Department of History of Ukraine and methods of teaching history of the Faculty of History, Political Science and International Relations Andriy Korolko (“Commemoration of the centenary of the birth of Taras Shevchenko at Pokuttya”), candidate of historical sciences, associate professor of the Department of World History of the Faculty of history, political science and international relations Oleksandr Marushchenko (“Ukrainian vision of the Second World War: new concepts”), candidate of historical sciences, associate professor of the Department of Ukrainian Studies and Philosophy of the Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University Olena Haydukevych (“Cooperation of UGCC and NTSH in the process of nature protection in Galicia 20s-30s of XX century”), doctor of historical sciences, professor of the department of philology and translation of the Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas Oleg Malyarchuk (“Socialist experiments in agriculture and industry of Prykarpattia: lessons of history”).

Interesting and fruitful discussions continued during the scientific meeting. Closing the meeting, the chairman of the historical commission of humanitarian sciences, doctor of historical sciences, director of the Institute of History, Ethnology and Archeology of the Carpathians, Mykola Kuhutyak noted the high scientific level of the participants’ reports, the polemical nature of their speeches, which contributes to the development of research on the study of the new and recent history of Ukraine and the native land.
