On April 2, 2024, the plenary session of the reporting scientific conference of the historical sciences section of the Faculty of History, Political Science and International Relations was held. In the introductory speech, the head of the section, presiding at the meeting, the dean of the Faculty, prof. I.F. Hurak emphasized the importance of the event. He noted that this event is a platform for the exchange of ideas between scientists of the Faculty and creates an additional opportunity to present the results of their own research conducted by the professors and teachers of the University’s structural division.
Ivan Monolatii, doctor of political sciences, professor of the Department of Political Science (topic of the report – “Private espionage and the Ukrainian national liberation movement in the first half of the 20th century: the case of Yakov Makogon”) and Bohdan Paska, candidate of historical sciences, leading specialist of the Institute of History, Ethnology and Archeology (topic of the report – “Preventive work of the KGB against Ukrainian dissidents: the Carpathian dimension”) spoke at the conference.
During the conference, fruitful discussions continued, the main arguments of which became the basis for the development of a joint decision of the scientific meeting about the great importance of the stated topics of the reports for the development of historical, political science and international scientific thought. Closing the meeting, the head of the section Assoc. Ihor Hurak noted the high scientific level of the participants’ reports, the polemical nature of their speeches, which contributes to the development of new research, the establishment of scientific communication and the exchange of one’s own scientific achievements.
