On April 4–8, 2024, Andriy Korolko, associate professor of the Department of History of Ukraine and methods of teaching history, Bohdan Paska, leading specialist of the Institute of History, Ethnology and Archeology of the Carpathians, and Mykola Vitenko, associate professor of the Department of History of Central and Eastern Europe and special branches of historical science took part in the work of the IV stage XXV All-Ukrainian Student Olympiad in History, which was held in Chernivtsi on the basis of the Multi-Professional Lyceum for Gifted Children.
The victory at these intellectual competitions was won by 129 students of grades 8-11 from different parts of Ukraine, including 31 eighth-graders, 32 ninth-graders, and 33 tenth- and eleventh-graders each.
The results of intellectual competitions were determined by a competent jury, which included more than 30 scientists and teachers from all over Ukraine. Thus, the deputy chairman of the jury was Andrii Korolko, associate professor of the Department of History of Ukraine and History Teaching Methods, who oversaw the review by members of the jury of the tasks of the practical and theoretical rounds of 10th grade students. In turn, the leading specialist Bohdan Paska checked the tasks of the practical and theoretical tours of the 11th grade students, and Mykola Vitenko, associate professor of the Department of History of Central and Eastern Europe and special branches of historical science, of the 9th grade students. The winners of the Olympiad were half of the participants who, according to the rating, took I, II and III places.
The main tasks of the student Olympiad at its last IV All-Ukrainian stage are: stimulation of creative self-improvement of children, student youth; identifying and developing gifted students, providing them with assistance in choosing a profession, involving them in studying at higher education institutions; realization of abilities of talented students; increasing interest in the in-depth study of history, formation of research work skills among students; activation of all forms of extracurricular and extracurricular work with students; raising the level of teaching of history and social science subjects, professional training of students; involvement of professors and teaching staff, graduate students, students of higher education institutions, employees of scientific institutions in active work with gifted student youth. The analysis of the verified works showed a high level of preparation of the majority of students in grades 8–11.

Also at the closing of the Olympiad, Andriy Korolko, associate professor of the Department of History of Ukraine and methods of teaching history, was awarded the thanks of the National Center “Small Academy of Sciences of Ukraine” for his high level of professionalism, personal contribution to the support of student youth, and his work as the deputy chairman of the jury of the IV stage of the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiad in History.
