Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University is ranked 10th among the best universities of Ukraine according to the results of Scopus international scientometric monitoring in April 2024.
The annual rating of higher education institutions of Ukraine based on data from the Scopus scientometric database has been published on the Osvita.ua website.
The results of the rating are based on the citation rates of scientific articles published by educational institutions or their specialists.
The rating was created based on the results of scientometric monitoring of subjects of scientific and publishing activity of Ukraine according to the indicators of the SciVerse Scopus database.
The Scopus database constantly indexes more than 25,000 periodical and non-periodical scientific publications in technical, medical and humanitarian sciences. This database includes publications of scientific journals, materials of conferences, book publications, etc.
In the rating table, Ukrainian universities are ranked according to the Hirsch index – a quantitative indicator based on the number of scientific publications and the number of their citations.
According to the results of the 2024 rating, the highest Hirsch index among Ukrainian institutions of higher education is Shevchenko Kyiv National University. Kharkiv Karazin National University takes second place in the Scopus rating. In third place is the Lviv Franko National University. The Odesa Mechnikov National University took the fourth place in the ranking. The National Technical University “Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” ranked fifth in the ranking of the most cited educational institutions. Sumy State University took the sixth place in the Scopus rating. Chernivtsi National University took the seventh position in the rating. Two Lviv universities: Lviv National Medical University and Lviv Polytechnic National University are ranked eighth and ninth in this year’s ranking.
