On August 19, 2024, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor, Dean of the Faculty of History, Political Science and International Relations Ihor Hurak, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of History of Ukraine and Methods of Teaching History Ihor Raykivskyi, Candidates of Historical Sciences, Associate Professors of the same department Oleh Yehreshiy, Stepan Kobuta and Andriy Korolko, graduate students Yuriy Sraychuk and Maria Sankovych took part in the All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference “Blessed Hieromartyr Mykolay Charnetskyi – the Path of the Righteous One for the Establishment of Ukrainian Statehood and the Revival of the UGCC”, which took place in the priest’s native “small homeland” in the village of Semakivtsi, Horodenka City Council, Kolomyia District, on the occasion of his 140th anniversary of his birth. Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor of the Department of History of Ukraine and Methods of Teaching History Ihor Pylypiv joined the scientific conference online.
Mykolay Charnetsky (1884–1959) – a famous church figure of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, Redemptorist, bishop, professor of the theological seminary in Stanislaviv (now Ivano-Frankivsk). The organizers of the scientific forum were the Department of History of Ukraine and Methods of Teaching History of the Faculty of History, Political Science and International Relations of the Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, the Horodenka City Council, the Kolomyia Diocese of the UGCC, the Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University, the Department of Culture, Nationalities and Religions of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration, the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Universal Scientific Library named after Ivan Franko, the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Organization of the National Union of Local History Scholars of Ukraine, the Cultural Center “Center for Culture and Arts” of the Horodenka City Council. The conference was attended by over 40 people, including: online: scientists, lecturers, teachers, representatives of state authorities, museum workers, etc. from different regions of Ukraine.
