For the first time in its history, Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University has entered one of the most influential and authoritative world university rankings, the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings! It evaluates universities around the world based on several important criteria, covering both academic achievements and international reputation. The ranking is published annually and analyzes the work of more than 2,000 universities from more than 90 countries around the world.

Currently, the Precarpathian National University is included in the global ranking of Times Higher Education, occupying a position among the world’s universities in the range of 1500+. This indicates the recognition by the world community of the active development of the University in the scientific and research sphere and the dynamic growth of its influence in the international arena. The University is working to improve its indicators by expanding international cooperation, increasing the number of scientific publications, and attracting foreign students.

According to the latest estimates, there are approximately 25,000 universities and higher education institutions in the world. However, not all universities meet the criteria for inclusion in such a level of international rankings as THE. THE World University Rankings are an important reference for students, researchers and teachers when choosing a university for study or cooperation, as well as for governments and investors when identifying the most promising educational and scientific institutions for cooperation. Therefore, the rating focuses on leading institutions that have active research activities and international cooperation.

In Ukraine, there are about 300 universities, academies and institutes by 2024. The Times Higher Education international ranking includes 17 Ukrainian universities. Only one of them (Sumy State University) is in the top thousand, which has a ranking. The other 16 Ukrainian universities, together with Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, share second place and are placed in alphabetical order with the same index of 1501+/2092.

We are now even more motivated to work actively to strengthen our research and international programs to improve our performance in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings.
