Vice-Rector of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University Eduard Lapkovsky, Director of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Arts of PNU Volodymyr Fedorak, Director of the Center for Medieval Studies of PNU, Professor of the Department of World History Myroslav Voloshchuk, and Senior Lecturer of the Department of Ethnology and Archaeology, archaeologist Ihor Kochkin took part in the celebrations on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the “Ancient Halych” reserve.
The event brought together many guests who came to congratulate the team on this important event. Among the guests were People’s Deputies of Ukraine Oksana Savchuk and Ihor Fris, representatives of the leadership of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Military Administration and the Regional Council – Lyudmila Sirko, Mykhailo Korolyk, Tetyana Boyko, the Mayor of Halych Oleh Kantor, as well as heads of city and regional institutions of various directions.
During their speeches, representatives of the Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University emphasized the importance of preserving the Ukrainian national cultural heritage, which combines the history, culture, and spirituality of our people. They also emphasized the need to popularize knowledge about the history of their native land and Ukraine in general among modern Ukrainian youth.
Particular attention was paid to the fruitful cooperation between the National Reserve “Ancient Halych” and the Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, which is already yielding significant results.
Thanks to the University’s educational programs, which cover historical disciplines, archaeology, cultural studies, art history, sacred art and restoration, students have a unique opportunity to participate in the study and preservation of historical monuments of our region.
