Charity event “Poppy of Memory”

On November 12, the Faculty of History, Political Science and International Relations of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University hosted a charity event called “Poppy of Memory,” dedicated to the end of World War I. The event, which has been organized at the faculty since 2014, aims to honor those who died in the Great War and help student defenders at the front.

Riflemen songs performed by students were heard, in particular, an old song from the village of Nyzhnia Lypytsia, recorded by Liliya Dyakun from her great-grandmother. The lecture by Ivan Monolaty, Doctor of Political Sciences, Professor of the Department of Political Science, was devoted to topical issues of the history of the First World War, the role of the Ukrainian Sich Riflemen, and historical memory.

During the event, participants could buy sweets, poppies, and play chess with Anastasia Drohobytska, a student of Lyceum No. 20 of the Ivano-Frankivsk City Council.

At the initiative of the graduate of the faculty, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Lyubov Slyvka and Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of the Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University Andriy Protsyk, a training on providing first aid was conducted with students.
