Participation of the Faculty of History, Political Science and International Relations in the celebration of St. Nicholas Day at the University

On December 10, 2024, the Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University hosted a celebration of St. Nicholas Day as part of the STEFANYK OPEN DAY project, with the participation of over 500 high school students from lyceums in Ivano-Frankivsk and the region. Teachers and students of the Faculty of History, Political Science and International Relations organized interesting interactive locations for potential applicants.

The general coordination of the work of the faculty was carried out by Bohdan Paska, who is responsible for conducting career guidance work, a leading specialist of the Institute of History, Ethnology and Archaeology of the Carpathians. Oksana Drohobytska, an associate professor of the Department of Ethnology and Archaeology, who organized an ethnographic exhibition, represented the specialty «History and Archaeology» and Yuriy Dovhan, an associate professor of the Department of World History, who organized a mini-exhibition of medieval weapons, coordinated the involvement of students in the uniforms of USS and UPA soldiers. Employees of the Department of History of Ukraine and Methods of Teaching History and the senior laboratory assistant of this department Ivanna Paliychuk organized the involvement of participants of the organization “Galician Banner” in the costumes of medieval knights, who organized a master class on conducting knightly battles, in the career guidance interactive of the specialty “Secondary Education (History)”. Students of the “Secondary Education (History)” specialty, under the leadership of Associate Professor Bohdan Paska, organized an interesting quiz for the guests of the holiday on solving riddles from the history of Ukraine.

Interesting interactive activities for senior students were offered by the Department of International Relations and the Department of International Economic Relations. Associate Professor of the Department of International Relations Orest Boychuk and students organized a master class on conducting interstate negotiations. Representatives of the Department of International Economic Relations – Professor Liliya Mykhailyshyn and Associate Professor Iryna Sernyak – managed to hold an interesting game on creating a business strategy, which was perhaps the most popular among all the interactive activities offered by the faculties of the university. A representative delegation of faculty teachers led by Deputy Dean Andriy Mishchuk joined the event.

In total, the faculty teachers and students managed to conduct career guidance conversations with several hundred potential applicants. The event was distinguished by its atmosphere and great excitement among the university guests. We hope that in a few months we will see many of them as our students. We invite creative youth to study at the Faculty of History, Political Science and International Relations of the Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University!
