Pre-Christmas interactive event for eleventh graders and students of specialty 014 Secondary Education (History)

On December 17, 2024, Tamara Halytska-Didukh, associate professor of the Department of History of Ukraine and Methods of Teaching History, organized a joint class for eleventh graders and students of the specialty 014 Secondary Education (History) of the Faculty of History, Political Science and International Relations of the Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University at the St. Basil Catholic Lyceum.

The topic of the lesson – “The Grinch and the Residents of Whooska” – combined historical analysis with a pre-Christmas atmosphere, creating a unique educational experience. During the event, interactive competitions were held aimed at generalizing knowledge about the history of Ukraine in the second half of the 20th century. Participants studied the features of the Soviet totalitarian regime, as well as the development of the Ukrainian national liberation movement. This approach contributed not only to the repetition of the material, but also encouraged active participation and interest. The fairy-tale mood that accompanied the lesson helped participants to delve deeper into the study of historical events, making complex topics more accessible and interesting. Such an interactive learning format is an example of an innovative approach to teaching that combines creativity, knowledge, and emotions.
