Acting Rector’s Report: Results-2024 and Plans-2025

Today, December 20, the last conference of the working group and the meeting of the Academic Council of the year took place at the Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University. It all started with the performance of traditional carols performed by the University’s Student Development Center. The festive performance created a solemn atmosphere and set everyone present up for fruitful work.

Immediately after that, a solemn award ceremony took place. Acting Rector Ihor Tsependa presented the diploma of Doctor of Sciences in the field of knowledge “Art Studies” with the scientific specialty “Theory and History of Culture” to Nadiya Babiy. Also, Professor of the Department of Performing Arts Volodymyr Pirus was awarded the medal “For Services to the University”. Bohdan Tomenchuk, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Ethnology and Archaeology, Leading Specialist of the Institute of History, Ethnology and Archaeology of the Carpathians, was presented with a valuable gift for his significant contribution to the development of science and education.

After the award ceremony, the main meeting was opened, during which the acting rector Ihor Tsependa summarized the results of the university’s work for 2024. In his report, he focused on the key achievements of the University:

– Successes in international and national rankings;

– An increase in the number of scientific and pedagogical workers with scientific degrees and academic titles;

– Achievements of students, including their academic success and participation in international programs;

– Implementation of scientific projects, obtaining grants and scholarships;

– Progress in the digitalization of the educational process.

At the end of the conference, the rector outlined priority tasks for 2025.

For the educational process:

– Introduction of innovative technologies into the educational process;

– Digitalization of management and educational processes to increase their efficiency;

– Simplification of procedures for students and teachers;

– Development of language skills of teachers and students, in particular learning English as a language of international academic communication;

– Ensuring inclusive education and equal access to education.

To improve the organization of education:

– Introduction of digital innovations and teaching methods, in particular using artificial intelligence;

– Improvement of the educational process management system;

– Compliance with university quality management standards in accordance with international ISO standards.

For the development of science:

– Development of Open Science areas;

– Increased participation of teachers in scientific project competitions;

– Support for student scientific work and young scientists;

– Commercialization of scientific research through business contracts;

– Increasing publication activity and obtaining international patents.

After hearing and discussing the Rector’s Report on the University’s Activities in 2024, the conference of the labor collective noted positive results in ensuring the quality of education, the dynamics of the number of full-time NPP with scientific degrees and academic titles, the dynamics of monograph publications by university scientists, student participation in mobility programs, improving the training of the personnel reserve, material and technical support for the functioning of structural units, expanding cooperation within the framework of existing and initiated international partnerships and popularization of the university. The Rector’s Report was defined as a “report on achieving the strategic success of the university.” The conference participants unanimously approved the Rector’s report on the results of the university’s activities in 2024.
