Participation in the conference “Ancient and Modern Galicia: Restoring Historical Memory”

On March 13, 2025, the head of the Department of Ethnology and Archaeology, director of the Institute of History, Ethnology and Archaeology of the Carpathians, Professor M.V. Kugutyak took part in the conference “Ancient and Modern Halych: Restoring Historical Memory”. The event took place in the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Universal Scientific Library named after I. Franko with the participation of well-known historians, local historians, writers, art historians and scientists. The topic of modern Halych and its fascinating history became central for the participants of the scientific conference. Famous Ukrainian historians, researchers, art historians, writers and cultural and public figures took an active part in the scientific and productive discussion, including: Mykola Kugutyak, Ivan Monolatiy, Andriy Stasyuk, Vasyl Ivanochko, Volodymyr Botsiurko, Oleg Polyvchak, Mykhailo Kosylo, Hanna Karas, Yevhen Baran, Yaroslav Tkachivsky, Vasyl Babiy, Yevstahiy Kryzhanivsky, Nadiya Rusko and others.

During the conference, M. Kugutyak opened a thematic book exhibition “Ancient and Modern Galicia”, including the famous book. “Monasteries of Ancient Galicia – Spiritual Amulet of the Ukrainian Nation” (2023), which became a harmonious addition to the scientific conference.
