International Science Center “Observatory” is among 25 research stations of the INTERACT program for young scientists

The International Scientific Center “Observatory” on Mount Pip Ivan has been included in the list of 25 international research stations that have become part of the new INTERACT Association grant project for young scientific groups. The center has become the only representative of Ukraine in the prestigious Transnational Access Call program, which opens up opportunities for conducting field research in 10 countries.

Research stations from Canada, Denmark, Switzerland, Norway, Finland, Poland, Austria, Iceland, the USA and Ukraine have been involved in the pilot competition. The International Scientific Center “Observatory” is the only one participating from our country – a unique high-altitude platform for interdisciplinary research located in the Ukrainian Carpathians.

More information about the Ukrainian station can be found on the INTERACT website: https://www.interact-gis.org/Home/Station/104

The aim of the program is to support early-stage researchers (from undergraduate level to 5 years after their last degree) in conducting ground-based research in boreal, arctic and alpine regions. The INTERACT Association provides grants of up to €15,000 per project, covering costs for access to the station, research activities, travel and logistics.

The first call is open from 2 May to 13 June 2025 (until 16:00 Central European Summer). Projects must be implemented during 2026.
