STEFANYK OPEN DAY for future masters was held at the university

On May 7, Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian (Carpathian) National University hosted a large-scale educational event STEFANYK OPEN DAY Master’s degree – level-up, startup and top investment! A meeting for students planning to continue their studies at the second (master’s) level.

4th-year students, bachelor’s graduates and all those interested in considering further academic and professional development, attended the event. The event’s program was rich and focused on the practical needs of young people.

At the beginning of the discussion panels, the participants were welcomed by the acting rector of the Precarpathian (Carpathian) National University, Ihor Tsependa. Within the framework of STEFANYK OPEN DAY, discussion panels and presentations of master’s programs in four educational areas were held:

Education, humanities and arts – Faculty of Pedagogy, Faculty of Philology, Faculty of Foreign Languages, Institute of Arts, Kolomyia Educational and Scientific Institute;

Business, Economics and Tourism – Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Tourism, Faculty of Physical Education and Sports, Faculty of Management;

Natural Sciences, IT and Engineering – Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics, Faculty of Physics and Technology, Faculty of Natural Sciences;

Law, Public Administration and Psychology – Institute of Law, Faculty of History, Political Science and International Relations, Faculty of Psychology.

During his panel discussion on the topic, “How does science make money?” Igor Tsependa noted, When choosing our profession, we should feel satisfaction from it. However, on the other hand, each of us understands: life is arranged in such a way that it is necessary to form our own financial cushion – the basis for a comfortable life.

In addition, here a completely logical question arises: how can you make money in science? Many of you are already working today – I am convinced that some of you even earn more than your parents. IT specialists can say: “Our salary is higher than that of the rector.” In addition, here the thought naturally arises: why should I continue my studies in a master’s degree? Perhaps I do not even need a bachelor’s degree, because the salary of a scientist is meager compared to market conditions. Nevertheless, this is a misconception. Of course, immediately after a master’s degree you will not earn thousands of euros. However, you will enter a scientific environment that has access to real financial opportunities.

Modern science has long been not limited to a salary set by the state. It develops thanks to large grant projects.

What is our university strong for? Why, having had the status of a university for only a little over 25 years, is it among the top ten universities in terms of the number of conditional publications? After all, there are universities founded in the 18th and 19th centuries nearby. The secret is in scientific schools. If a scientific school is formed, if there is a group of researchers united by common interests, it instantly gives results.

STEFANYK OPEN DAY became a platform for meetings with teachers, department representatives, graduates and students who are already building successful careers. Participants had the opportunity to get to know the master’s programs better, ask questions and choose their educational path.

Special thanks to the panel moderators who set the pace and content of the discussions: Taras Paska – a university graduate, a scientist in the field of pedagogy; Taras Vasilyuk – an acting teacher, a graduate; Nazar Tymkiv – a student who is confidently mastering the acting profession. The ideological inspirer of the event was Nelya Dolynko – a university graduate, head of the council of young scientists. The director of the Educational and Scientific Center for Professional Career and Lifelong Education, candidate of philological sciences, associate professor Halyna Voloshchuk also joined the organization.

In conclusion, it is worth recalling: the university provides the opportunity for free express preparation for the EFVV for admission to the master’s program.
