During May 14–17, the team of the Precarpathian (Carpathian) National University named after Vasyl Stefanyk continued training under the professional development program for academic managers, successfully completing the second module.
As part of the implementation of Module 2 “Strategizing in Uncertainty”, which is part of the joint project of the World Bank, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the British Council Ukraine Improving Higher Education for Results Project (UIHERP), the team actively participated in a series of sessions dedicated to the strategic management of higher education institutions in the face of changes and challenges of today.
The team representing the university at this stage is Eduard Lapkovsky (team leader), Yuriy Mykytyn, Iryna Solonets, Maria Marcinkiv, Tetyana Hulyak, Oksana Chuyko and Nelya Dolynko.
During the training, the team was acquainted with modern European and Ukrainian strategies for the development of higher education, in particular, the Strategy for the Development of Higher Education of Ukraine for 2022–2032, digital transformation of education, open science.
The speakers also introduced the participants to the basics of strategizing in higher education institutions: strategic planning in conditions of uncertainty, determining KPIs, developing a mission, vision and monitoring mechanisms, communication strategy, building effective interaction with internal and external stakeholders, the importance of transparent communication, and principles of strategy implementation.
We thank the speakers of the program for their high professionalism and meaningful interaction! The experience gained will become a powerful foundation for developing the institutional capacity of our institution, updating strategic documents, and implementing modern approaches to governance.
