Our graduate Oleksandr Kolomyychuk is a scholarship holder named after Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine B. E. Paton for young scientists of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine

Congratulations to Oleksandr Kolomyychuk, a graduate of the Faculty of History, Political Science and International Relations, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Research Fellow of the M.T. Rylsky Institute of Art History, Folklore and Ethnology of the NAS of Ukraine, on receiving the B. E. Paton Scholarship for Young Scientists of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine – Candidates of Sciences (Doctors of Philosophy) and Doctors of Sciences (2024). Oleksandr Kolomyychuk was among the first students of the specialty “Ethnology” in the history of our faculty. After completing his studies in 2011, he entered graduate school (specialty “Ethnology”). He defended his dissertation for the degree of Candidate of Historical Sciences on the topic “Autumn-Winter Calendar Customs and Rites of the Boykos in the Second Half of the 19th – Early 21st Centuries” in 2015 (scientific supervisor: Professor of the Department of Ethnology and Archaeology Mykola Kuhutyak). From February to October 2016, he worked as a teacher of history and law at the Ivano-Frankivsk Evening School of II–III Degrees No. 1. In November–December 2016, he interned at the Faculty of “Artes Liberales” of the University of Warsaw (Republic of Poland). Scholar of international educational and scientific programs: the Government of the Republic of Poland for young scientists (2017–2018) and the International Visegrad Fund (2018–2019). At the same time, he interned at the Institute of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology of the University of Warsaw. Graduate of the XXIX Eastern Summer School of the Center for East European Studies of the University of Warsaw (2019).

From September 2019 to May 2020, he worked as a senior researcher at the Demyaniv Laz Memorial Complex Museum (Ivano-Frankivsk) and part-time as a history and civics teacher at the Ivano-Frankivsk private non-profit educational institution “Catholic comprehensive school of II–III levels-gymnasium of St. Basil the Great”. Since December 2020, he has been a junior researcher, and since July 2023, he has been a researcher at the Ukrainian Ethnological Center Department of the M. T. Rylsky Institute of Art History, Folklore and Ethnology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (Kyiv).

Laureate of the XXVI International Literary and Artistic Competition named after Myron Utrysk (2023) for the book “Calendar Rituals of the Ukrainians of Boykivshchyna: Autumn-Winter Cycle (Late 19th – 30s of the 20th Century)” (Ivano-Frankivsk, 2022); Prize of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Young Scientists for 2023. Winner of the competition “Best Young Scientist of the Academy” in the nomination “Literary Studies, Linguistics, Ethnology and Art History” (2024). Laureate of the scholarship named after Academician of the NAS of Ukraine B. E. Paton for young scientists of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine – candidates of sciences (Doctors of Philosophy) and Doctors of Sciences (2024).

Author of the monograph “Calendar Rituals of Ukrainians of Boykivshchyna: Autumn-Winter Cycle (Late 19th – 30s of the 20th Century)” and two chapters of collective works, over 40 scientific articles.
