On May 18, the All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference “Historical and Local Studies Activities in Educational Institutions in the Conditions of the New Ukrainian School” (online) was held at the project-educational center “Agents of Change” of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University. The organizer of the event was the Department of History of Ukraine and Methods of Teaching History of the Faculty of History, Political Science and International Relations of our university.
The work of the scientific forum was attended by scientists, lecturers, teachers, heads of circles of institutions of general secondary and extracurricular education, museum workers, students from Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, Ivan Zyazyun Institute of Pedagogical Education and Adult Education of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, State Scientific Institution “Institut modernization of the content of education”, Ukrainian State Center for National-Patriotic Education, Local History and Tourism of School Youth, Mykhailo Drahomanov Ukrainian State University, Yury Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University, Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas, Ivano-Frankivsk Academy of Ivan Zolotoustoy, Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Center of Tourism and Local Lore of Pupils, Chernivtsi Regional Institute of Postgraduate Pedagogical Education, etc. In total, more than 90 participants of the conference.
Doctor of Historical Sciences, Head of the Department of History of Ukraine and Methods of Teaching History, Ihor Raykivskyi, moderated the online conference. In his welcoming speech, the Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work of the University, Professor Serhiy Sharyn, noted the importance of holding the Pedagogical Scientific Forum.
The work of the All-Ukrainian Pedagogical Scientific and Practical Forum took place in the format of plenary and sectional meetings in the following main areas: conceptual foundations of the New Ukrainian School in studying the history of the native land in educational institutions: challenges and realities; historical and local history activities in educational institutions of territorial communities: content and features; scientific research and research and local history activities in educational institutions: innovative and traditional approaches; formation of competencies of education seekers through the prism of historical and local studies; the place and role of the teacher and group leader in the educational environment of the New Ukrainian School; the museum of the educational institution as a platform for regional studies in the context of the New Ukrainian School; extracurricular and extracurricular local history group work as a means of national-patriotic education of pupils and students. Bohdan Paska, a leading specialist of the Institute of History, Ethnology and Archeology of the Carpathians, moderated one of the sections.
