On February 23, 2023, in the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Universal Scientific Library named after I. Franko, the presentation of the book “The First Hutsul Hundred of the USS of Centurion Klym Gutkovsky” by Petro Siredzhuk, a doctor of historical sciences, a leading specialist of the Institute of History, Ethnology and Archeology of the Carpathians, a tireless worker in the field of local history, took place.
The presented work “The First Hutsul Hundred of the USS of Centurion Klym Gutkovsky” is a tribute to the memory and honor of the riflemen and officers of the First Hutsul Hundred of the USS, who defended the independence of the region with weapons in their hands, and fought for the unity of Ukraine.
A well-known Ukrainian scientist – Doctor of Philosophy, Professor, Honored Education Worker of Ukraine, Director of the Institute of Humanitarian Training and Public Administration of IFNTUNG, Dmytro Dzvinchuk, moderated the event. He noted that the book echoes the current events of the Ukrainian struggle for an independent state. At the time of resistance against Russian aggression, this work is especially valuable, because it demonstrates the constant perseverance and desire of Ukrainians for a free life, for life in their country. Well-known local historians, historians, scientists, as well as readers of the book collection joined the active conversation with the publication’s author.
Those present highly appreciated the long-term scientific research of Petro Siredzhuk, his significant contribution to the study of the history of our region, wished creative inspiration, new achievements in the field of local history.
