The best graduates of the master’s degree of the Faculty of History, Political Science and International Relations have the opportunity to continue their studies in graduate school, including on a budget form of education, and receive the scientific degree of Doctor of Philosophy. Among the teachers who not only successfully manage dissertation research, but also participate in the organization of defenses as reviewers, opponents and heads of one-time specialized academic councils, there are representatives of the teaching staff of various departments of the faculty.
Two lecturers of the Department of History of Ukraine and Methods of Teaching History participated as reviewers in the meeting of the one-time specialized academic council on awarding the degree of Doctor of Philosophy to postgraduate graduate Andrii Ihorovych Petrash on January 12, 2024, approved at the Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, consisting of five people theses – candidate of historical sciences, associate professor Oleg Ihorovych Yehreshiy and candidate of historical sciences, associate professor Andrii Zinoviyovych Korolko. Dissertation topic for obtaining the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in the specialty 032 “History and Archeology”: “The Society of Jesus in the Lviv Archdiocese in 1852-1914: religious-cultural and social-charitable activity”, scientific supervisor – Doctor of Historical Sciences, professor, head Department of World History Zhernokleev Oleh Stanislavovych. Doctor of historical sciences, professor of the department of ethnology and archeology, director of the Institute of History, Ethnology and Archeology of the Carpathians Mykola Vasyliovych Kuhutyak acted as the chairman of the council.
