On March 4, 2024, the leading specialist of the Institute of History, Ethnology and Archeology of the Carpathians, Bohdan Paska, took part in an extraordinary meeting of the expert commission on history of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. The meeting was chaired by the head of the Department of Source Studies and Special Historical Disciplines of the Institute of Historical Education of Mykhailo Drahomanov Ukrainian State University, prof. Oleksandr Valentynovych Potylchak (chairman of the expert commission). The secretary was a senior researcher of the department of scientific and educational-methodical support of the content of general secondary education at the State Scientific Institution “Institute of Modernization of the Content of Education”, PhD. Olena Kostyantynivna Hurska.
During the meeting, 6 revised marking objects were considered – textbooks from the “History of Ukraine” and “World History” courses intended for 11th grade students. The leading specialist of the Institute of History, Ethnology and Archeology of the Carpathians, Bohdan Paska, presented for consideration by the commission a report on the revision of the textbook for the “History of Ukraine (standard level)” course for the 11th grade by Akim Halimov, Oleksandr Hisem and Oleksandr Martyniuk. The expert’s opinion was supported and approved by the expert commission. The commission suggested that the Ministry of Education and Culture of Ukraine reject the draft textbook. Because of the discussion, three more textbook projects were rejected; two projects have been sent for revision.
